Decades after their clash at the 1984 All Valley Karate Tournament, middle-aged Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence find themselves once again as martial arts rivals. During the original filming of Karate Kid, the late director John G. The Cobra Kai crew scoured the studio and found a wealth of previously unseen footage that they were able to incorporate into the series using flashbulbs. One of the various angles also features Zabka’s real-life mother standing in the stands, a scene that wasn’t seen until 2018.
However, another interesting fact is that The Karate Kid II
Ralph Macchio told Uproxx that there are three brand-new angles for the famous crane kick. Many believe that Miyagi’s name on his tombstone is a continuity error, as his name is in Karate Kid 4 (1994). Keisuke, but he was actually previously seen on the sign Chozen held in Karate Kid 2 (1986) to become Nariyoshi. This means that The Next Karate Kid changed its name, while Cobra Kai kept its previous name.
There’s a lot to like about this series

Johnny Lawrence’s reaction is priceless
The rejection of political correctness and victim culture is probably my favorite. Indeed, rejection is a strong word, and it is by no means a protest piece, but it is certainly a theme of taking responsibility for one’s fate and facing adversity with resilience and even some aggression. (The show is intelligent enough to portray overt aggression or anger as counterproductive.) There is a great scene in a karate tournament where a competitor starts giving the crowd hypocritical virtue signaling. Hopefully Hollywood will take note that virtue signaling is not a prerequisite for great entertainment.
